Director of Procurement and Buying UCD Bursars Office Ref: 010559 Permanent Applications are invited for the permanent role of Director of Procurement and Buying within the Bursars Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and motivation to a team of UCD buyers engaged to deliver a high quality procurement service dealing with suppliers and all UCD requisitions. Applicants must demonstrate a proven track record in terms of senior management, administration and organisational experience, with particular expertise in the provision of procurement services.  They will work closely with internal budget holders and will ensure UCD gets best value from external suppliers for 100% of its €120m annual spend with external suppliers.  The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring that UCD gets best value from any procurement activities associated with its unprecedented large scale campus development building programme, and will be required to support UCD in maximising value from on-site licensees. They will need to ensure UCD is compliant with all Irish Public Sector, legal and European procurement rules.  They will work very closely with the Office of Government Procurement (OGP) in supporting OGP objectives and delivering value for money for UCD. The post holder will be able to work independently and at a strategic level, foster high-level collaborative working relationships and operate across organisational and institutional boundaries and with all levels of faculty, staff and stakeholders.
