We have an exciting opportunity in our EMEIA (Europe, Middle East, India, Africa) Environmental Initiatives Team. Our mission is to ensure that Apple's products and processes meet and surpass EU, regional and national environmental regulatory requirements and continues to expand its leadership position on environmental programs. The EMEIA team supports Apple's corporate environmental groups in the environmental priority areas of Climate Change, Safer Materials and Resources. Part of our dedicated team is tasked with ensuring Apple's compliance with the various Extended Producer Responsibility (recycling) regulations across the EMEIA region. For this activity we're looking for a dynamic individual to strengthen our friendly team. Key Qualifications: •Do you have proven experience in recycling compliance in the EU?(additional experience outside EU is a plus) •Are you experienced in working with recycling schemes? •Can you demonstrate experience with European Union and it's Member States' recycling legislations? (additional experience outside EU is a plus) •Are you confident in your ability to communicate effectively with internal & external partners? •Competency in core professional skills including: attention to detail, responsiveness, follow - though, flexibility, with the ability to meet deadlines. •Independent, reliable and a dynamic work style is a recipe for success •Fluent in English, additional EU language is welcome •Passionate about numbers and data •Proof of professionally mastering Excel, ability to set up, develop and work with complex functions and macros Description: Extended Producer Responsibility regulations make producers of products responsible for the financing of the recycling of hardware, batteries and packaging materials at their end of life. In order to fulfil its recycling obligations in various countries across EMEIA, Apple is a member of recycling organisations for electrical and electronic equipment, packaging and batteries & accumulators. The team prepares and submits all necessary compliance reports and makes sure recycling fees are paid on time. In order to fulfil this task, the team works closely and in a dedicated way with many internal and external stakeholders. Key tasks include: • Prepare and submit compliance recycling reports based on the latest requirements from schemes. The reporting requirements may change from time to time. Proactively engage with schemes to be sure that the team is on the top of all reporting requirements. Document reporting rules in guidelines and provide recommendations to improve reports • Ensure that all necessary data to be included in the reports is available and work closely with several internal stakeholders to source the necessary data • Work closely with recycling schemes to ensure that all relevant documentation is always in place (e.g. compliance certificate, annual declaration of conformity) • Work closely with recycling schemes to ensure that Apple complies with specific local requirements • In relevant countries, engage with authorities, with peers in the industry and with consultants to assess the best recycling compliance solution for Apple • Handle compliance audits in coordination with compliance schemes, national Environmental agencies, auditing firms and various internal teams who provide support • Prepare compliance budgets and conduct regular reviews with team management and with our Finance department Education: Degree in a direction relevant to this job, in environmental science, data management or business management.
