Assistant Accountant

A rapidly growing automotive company with a strong national presence is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their Bedford office. The role offers a broad range of responsibilities for the right candidate and serves as an excellent opportunity to develop an Accounting career.

Client Details

The client is a leading provider of vehicle business solutions in the UK, who work closely with every major vehicle manufacturer in the country. Undergoing a period of growth, the company has increased its staff by 50% in the last few years and is looking for a dedicated Assistant Accountant to join their Bedford-based finance team.

Description

Key responsibilities include:

• Generating and reviewing daily revenue reports
• Handling purchase ledger responsibilities and making recommendations as to payments
• Bank reconciliations
• Handling rental brokerage
• Review daily cash and credit card reconciliations
• Petty cash and cash management
• Assisting the Finance Director and other department heads with ad-hoc reporting

Profile

The successful candidate will:

• Competent in MS Excel - intermediate (exporting data, spreadsheets and reports), Word and Outlook
  
• Confident user of SAGE accounting software
• Able to work as part of a team
• Preferably AAT qualified or part-qualified with a view to progressing onto ACCA or CIMA
  
• Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent (e.g. 5 grade A - C including Maths and English)
