Raeburn Recruitment have an opportunity for a Business Analyst to work with an Oil & Gas Operator. This is a contract opportunity until the end of the year and will be based in Aberdeen.

Job Summary:
The purpose of this role is to provide Business Analysis and Project Management skills to ensure successful delivery of a range of IT projects related to Oil & Gas Business Systems. This is a varied position and the post holder will be required to work with a range of technologies and applications.

Technical – Provide:
o Business Analysis and Project Management skills
o Key interface with business users by defining new requirements or enhancing existing solutions
o Business Process Re–engineering
o Business Application Testing, Training, Change Management and Go–live activities
o Software Solution/Supplier Selection (in accordance with company procurement procedures)
o Vendor Coordination and Negotiation (i.e. raising, validating and managing requests on behalf of business users)
Safety – Conducts all activities in a safe and effective manner and raises safety and environmental issues immediately and in line with corporate policy
Leadership – Undertakes the role in line with corporate policy and demonstrates behaviours in line with company values at all times. Readily accepts accountability
Financial – Carries out duties in a way that maximises value and minimises waste and risk.
Collaboration – Collaborates with others in the team and looks for opportunities to leverage their network and work with others to develop safe, practical and effective solutions
Continuous Improvement & Innovation – Continuously develops ways of working by seeking feedback from colleagues and key stakeholders. Complies with client project management disciplines, effectively utilises knowledge databases and actively participates in project reviews
Capability Development – Looks for opportunities to develop technical and personal skills both by formal learning interventions and work experience. Coaches team colleagues where appropriate and demonstrates a personal commitment to lifelong learning
People Processes – Engages with people processes in a positive and timely manner. Demonstrates a commitment to the spirit of such processes.
Performs other duties, completes additional tasks and supports ad–hoc projects as required

IT Degree Qualified or similar experience in role
Business Analysis British Computer Society qualification or similar
Project Management PRINCE2 or similar experience in role

Experience of Information Security & GDPR regulations
Experience of commercial engagement with suppliers during software tender evaluations
Problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Experience of preparing and presenting key project information to stakeholders
Knowledge of Oil and Gas Upstream Technology and Application Landscapes would be an advantage
Knowledge of IT technical landscapes related to infrastructure would be an advantage
