Start-Up Finance Manager

A start-up fitness retail brand based in London are looking for a Finance Manager to take ownership of the end-to-end accounting and support the decision making of the business.

My client is a high-growth start-up fitness retail brand based in London with online retail operations and a new style of fitness classes with their own dedicated trainers. They have also expanded their international presence with EMEA and AsiaPac expansion.

Description

In line with this recent growth they are looking for a Finance Manager in London to operate in a stand-alone role to own the day-to-day accounting and support senior management with decision making. Your key responsibilities will be:

• Ownership of all transactional finance across AP, AR, and credit control;

• Sole responsibility for producing balance sheet, P&L, and cash-flow forecasts;

• Development of accurate and insightful management information;

• Production of budgets and forecasts for departments and operate in a business partnering capacity to inform decisions;

• Lead year-end statutory reporting;

• Play a key role in identifying process improvements and potential systems upgrades/implementations;

• Undertake ad hoc analysis and reporting as requested.

Profile

As a strong applicant for this Finance Manager role you will:

• Be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA);

• Demonstrate end-to-end accounting experience from transactional level responsibilities to board pack presentations;

• Show an ability to engage across the business and operate at all levels to provide financial insight to decision making;

• Be comfortable with budgeting and forecasting;

• Have a proactive approach to problem solving and be comfortable "getting your hands dirty" and supporting all areas of the business;

• Possess strong IT and excel skills, ideally having a background in software selection and implementation;

• A keen interest in fitness will be highly advantageous, as will previous exposure to a retail environment.

Job Offer

The offer to the successful candidate will be between £45,000-£55,000 depending on experience plus benefits. You will also be joining a start-up environment with passionate colleagues with a clear goal on growing the organisation.
