Operational Risk Analyst

My Financial Services client are currently recruiting for an Operational Risk Analyst

Role Purpose

The Risk Analyst will assist the Head of Risk in the development, communication, implementation and embedding of the Assurance Framework and Enterprise Risk Framework. This will include ensuring that the business is aware of and operates within the approved risk appetite, managing compliance with appropriate policies and reporting on key business risks and associated action plans to the Head of Risk.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support and challenge the business risk owners in identification, assessment, management, reporting and validation of key risks through the testing of key controls.
2. Promote operational risk awareness including training and communication for the operation
3. Maintenance and updating of Risk Procedures, Policies and Risk documentation, ensuring they are kept up to date.
4. Work with the operation and business leaders to maintain a robust suite of reporting for Key Risk Indicators and Early Warning Indicators and monitor for trends on a daily basis.
5. Ownership for the management and remediation of a variety of business risks.
6. Complete control self-assessments in line with the RCSA and Issues Log and control validation testing in line with the Assurance Plan.
7. Performing gap analysis on regulatory guidance and rules to ensure that the business is managed in a compliant manner.
8. Ensure the Risk and Control Self-Assessment document is kept up to date with control ratings, risk ratings and agreed control improvement actions.

Knowledge

• Experience of working in a risk environment within Financial Services

• Understand the Risk and Control environment
• Understanding of current and future Regulatory matters either directly or part of a firm wide delivery programme
