Lead the newly formed workplace solutions and design department consisting of a team of space planners and project managers for office/branch renovation. The candidate will be expected to develop and implement new workplace guidelines, solutions & design strategy, as we aim to transform UOB next generation workplace to a more flexible and collaborative environment that encourage innovation and enhance users' experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement new workplace guidelines, solutions & design strategy
  • Conduct workplace due diligence and work with Portfolio Strategy Head to identify real estate demand based on workplace utilization, workplace activities analysis, organic growth demand plan & workplace options analysis inclusive of the development of new workplace design standards and guidelines
  • Engage with stakeholders and support the development of new digital branch concept that uses design thinking to create an experience tailored to the lifestyles of millennial customers
  • Manage a team of workplace design/space planner and Project Management team on execution
  • Coordinate and drive workplace design and renovation projects (layout design, fitout project, management of change) for commercial offices and branches, with support from external workplace design consultant or interior designer
  • Establish and manage workplace solutions budget, organization and operational delivery
  • Explore & develop implementation strategy for new workplace technology (meeting room booking, sensors & IOT solutions etc) if applicable
  • Ensure the utilisation of workplace technology and other workplace databases are being utilised correctly by the vendor and the information they contain is accurate. This will be achieved by on-site review and sample testing
  • Engage and develop with facility team to operationalise the workplace strategy and how the maintenance of the new workplace can be integrated into facilities management using technology means or others
  • Develop process and workflow to demonstrate the need and structure of delivery for continuation of improving customer experience
  • Utilising benchmarking data to compare normalised cost and productivity metrics with the objective of moving to consistent cost and productivity outputs with the objective of cost and service optimisation
  • Joint P&L responsibility for Property Assets under management. Manage controls, analysis, forecasts and reports expense for each assigned project.
  • Preparing annual budgets for capital works and expenses; monitoring expenditure against plan and preparing variance analysis reports
  • Ensuring all changes in service delivery and volume are covered by change control and verify veracity of change request before submission to governance committee. It may be necessary to support changes through the governance process
  • Optimising and overseeing the execution of project managing all churns projects, office and retail fitouts and building infrastructure replacement /upgrade projects
  • Upon request liaising with building owners, managing agents and tenants (if any) on all aspects of workplace solutions and design related activities
  • Providing ad hoc reports to CRES local and regional management. Ensure all works undertaken comply with UOB standards and local authority rules and regulations
  • Ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, safety and environmental issues. Ensure documentation and reporting follows the policies and procedures
  • Vendor Management - Manages outside resources (architects, designers, construction crews, etc.) to achieve successful completion of the project
Requirements
  • Degree in Architectural, Interior Design, Engineering and Project/facility management
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in Corporate Real Estate profession, with focus on project management, workplace solutions strategy and delivery
  • Excellent communications skills and vendor management within a partnering environment
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office software in a business problem solving context
  • Strong analytical skills. Experience in financial management and budget control
