To help us implement this plan we need the best people in our roles across our different functions. You could join this fantastic transformation as we are looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join our Kingfisher Group Finance team.

Responsibilities

The role of the Senior Accountant is to produce both internal and external reporting deliverables including:
  • Prepare monthly management accounts packs and Board reports for senior Group management.
  • Consolidate budget and forecast submissions.
  • Prepare the weekly store sales report on a rota basis.
  • Produce quarterly sales and profit figures for inclusion in Stock Exchange announcements.
  • Produce the half year interim announcement, yearend preliminary announcement and yearend financial statements under IFRS.
  • Assist with production of statutory accounts for head office structure companies.
  • Preparation of analysis and presentation material as requested, with focus on the balance sheet.
  • Review, support and challenge the Operating Companies (OpCos) reporting submissions.
To do this you will maintain excellent working relationships with the OpCos and other head office departments, and ensure awareness of technical and business issues facing these stakeholders. You will keep management and OpCos informed of accounting technical developments and their impact on Group/OpCo reporting. Assist with co-ordination of, and participation in, OpCo training events and accounting meetings.

You will be working on high-priority projects to implement new accounting and reporting developments and improvements and assist Group Reporting Manager and Group Financial Controller on specialist technical areas, policy updates, reports and adhoc requests. It will also be your responsibility to co-ordinate the Group Hyperion consolidation system and report updates, working closely with the Hyperion system team.

You will also be responsible for the day-to-day review and management of work performed by the more junior members of the team, which includes:
  • Planning of Group reporting task allocations and co-ordination of monthly (and other cycle) consolidation processes.
  • Training, development and support of junior members of the team, including significant involvement and input into their appraisals and development meetings.
Qualifications
  • Qualified chartered accountant with strong post-qualification experience.
  • Excellent IFRS technical accounting,
  • Excel and Word skills required, prior Hyperion experience an advantage but not a requirement.
  • A good team player and people manager who can operate in a professional but friendly environment.
  • Plc exposure and consolidation experience are required.
  • French language skills is an advantage but not a requirement.
