Assistant Accountant

Marks Sattin are recruiting for a leading commercial business in the Birmingham area. A newly created and permanent role as Assistant Accountant which has arisen due to business growth. You will be working closely with the Management Accountant and Financial Controller, your main duties will include:

• Completing the month and year-end analysis
• Completing bank reconciliation
• Support with Reporting on debtors and creditors
• Raising invoices, managing ledgers, processing expenses.
• Handling accruals and prepayments
• Preparing annual budgets
• Completing financial reports on a regular basis and providing information to the finance team
• Assisting with budgets
• Completing bank reconciliations
• Coordinating internal and external audits
• Verifying balances in account books and rectifying discrepancies
• Support on ad-hoc projects as required by the Financial Controller

The ideal candidate will be looking to work towards their ACCA or CIMA studies. You will need to be a self-motivated, hardworking individual, able to work on your own initiative and within a team, high attention to detail to fulfil the role with some previous experience in a similar position.
