Indirect Tax Assistant Manager, Central London

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 p.a. + 10% performance bonus

Our client is a world leading Research and Analytics Company with over 4,000 employees worldwide with their European Headquarters based in London. They are looking for a Tax Assistant Manager with experience or working with international VAT, a good understanding of Accounting and experience of working with 50+ VAT registrations would be ideal although is not essential.

The Indirect Tax Assistant Manager will be an integral part of the indirect tax function for the group. Assisting in the implementation of indirect tax process for filing VAT, indirect tax and indirect tax planning on a global basis.

Key position responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the completion of indirect tax filings and indirect tax planning on a global basis, via management of a global compliance outsource arrangement.
  • Key point of contact for business VAT queries in billing and sales pitches.
  • Liaise with shared service centre to implement appropriate procedures to prepare indirect tax returns. Including training of service centre staff.
  • Ensure correct reporting on a group basis of VAT liabilities.
  • Manage co-sourcing arrangements where needed to prepare indirect tax filings.
  • Implement and organize an indirect tax calendar for the global group.
  • Communicate with tax authorities and provide audit defence for indirect tax filings
  • Support the global function as needed for indirect tax.

Knowledge, skill and experience:

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience working in international indirect tax
  • Strong VAT compliance skills and understanding of VAT
  • Excellent accounting knowledge
  • Must possess superior organizational and documentation skills
  • Extremely detailed oriented
  • Ability to research and propose resolutions on complex indirect tax issues
  • Strong analytical skills set and solid experience with financial data relating to indirect tax
  • Solid Word, Excel, PowerPoint, spreadsheet and computer knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to foster a team oriented environment, working collaboratively with cross-functional departments
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
