Gatehouse Bank are currently recruiting for an experienced Product Manager (Retail Home Finance Products). The role itself will be based in either our Milton Keynes or Wilmslow office.
Gatehouse Bank is a challenger Shariah compliant bank offering savings products and finance for UK commercial and residential real estate, in addition to sourcing and advising on UK real estate investments with a focus on the build to rent sector.
Role Purpose
To determine the strategy and development of the product offering for Gatehouse Bank Plc with consideration applied to the commercial, market and regulatory operating requirements (internal and external) through robust risk management in addition to managing and influencing key stakeholder relationships. The role is primarily focussed on Retail Home Finance products, with support for other product types.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the commercial, market and regulatory aspects of product development to effectively drive the Bank’s product offering;
* Determine customer needs by specifying the research needed to obtain market information;
* Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements;
* Assess the market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products, making recommendations as to strategic direction to maintain/enhance market share;
* Provide source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives in collaboration with the CCO and Marketing team;
* Obtain product market share by working with the CCO to develop product sales strategies;
* Assess product market data through attending broker visits with BDM’s
* Provide management information for short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses;
* Bring new products to market by analysing proposed product requirements and product development programmes;
* Preparing return-on-investment analysis;
* Introduce and market new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales and marketing.
* Determine product pricing through market research data; review sales costs and anticipate volume to help determine workforce planning;
* Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Required knowledge & skills:
* Leadership skills, including the ability to manage product risk, compliance and control activities;
* Considerable knowledge and experience of best practice and governance frameworks, methodologies, and emerging practice, in relation to the development and management of home finance products in UK regulated financial services context;
* Skilled communicator with the ability to influence and motivate others;
* Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse complex information to identify the key issue/action and drive resolution;
* Knowledge and understanding of risk control arrangements;
* Knowledge of regulatory environment and key regulatory regimes.
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:
* Previous experience of product management within Financial Services ideally within an existing product team
* 3 years + practical experience in developing new financial services products
* Preferably from a Challenger Bank background
* Experience of working with Sales Teams to launch new products
* Experience of existing portfolio analysis offerings and pricing
* Understanding of Shariah Banking
