Vacancy:  Accounting  Administrator Background Volkswagen Bank GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen Financial Services AG, the largest automobile financial services provider in Europe. The products and services of Volkswagen Bank GmbH range from the financing of new and used vehicles of all the Group's brands to dealer financing. Vacancy A vacancy has now arisen for an Accounting Administrator in Volkswagen Bank Branch Ireland, reporting directly to the Accounting Manager. The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic team, with the role holder's primary responsibility to provide accurate & timely support for the accounting function and to ensure integrity of accounting information in order for management to assess the financial performance of the organisation. The role holder will work within and contribute to a strong controlled environment, incorporating financial controls, procedures, and risk management. Key Responsibilities Daily Process daily Customer & Dealer related payment and collection runs for the German Portfolio Products Process daily Customer & Dealer related payment and collection runs for the Operate Lease and Service Plan portfolio Reconcile Daily Bank Statements, follow up on suspense items to ensure books of accounts are up to date Assist Cash Manager to prepare, monitor and reconcile daily cash transactions on 8 bank accounts to ensure sufficient funding in place to pay key stakeholders daily and optimize balances Provide cover for the Accounts Payable function Take ownership of own business area including management / escalation of issues Monthly Prepare Brand Subvention Accruals, Invoices, Credit Notes and Statements Assist 2 financial accountants to reconcile Contract Management Systems to SAP on a monthly Basis Prepare Accounting IDP's on a monthly basis to strict deadlines Prepare HQ regulatory reporting to strict deadlines Prepare relevant month end Journals for review and input Assist with the month-end close process Adhoc Monitoring and maintenance of the Accounting process and procedures Contribute to the Operational Excellence initiative, developing procedural improvements Assist Accounting Manager with new Product Implementation including representing the accounting department at meetings, maintaining deadline tracker for projects, completing UAT (User Acceptance Testing), providing feedback to Accounting Manager with any potential issues / concerns Assist Accounting Manager with internal audit requirements Role Requirements: Previous experience within a Financial Services Banking and/or Accounting Administration  environment is required Experience in PC programs (Advanced Excel, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint) Knowledge of SAP  (is an advantage, but not critical) Accuracy and attention to detail at all times Organised, analytical and systematic working style Ability to work to strict daily and monthly deadlines A desire to understand accounting transactions and logic Basic understanding of Balance Sheet & Profit & Loss structure Fluent English (written and spoken) Knowledge of German (is an advantage, but not critical) Degree Qualification in a Business or Finance related discipline is an advantage Terms & Conditions This is a full time permanent position.
