As a Big Data Architect you work with the team of engineers to offer solutions around leading big data platforms and cloud technologies. The current team is working on some of the latest technologies in the region using advanced analytics solutions such as MapR, Hortonworks, Cloudera, AWS etc.

This is a varied role that will involve a mix of big data and traditional EDW projects and will find you:

• Architecting and designing cross industry commercial solutions using industry leading practices in technology, maintainability, performance and scalability
• Designing and implementing on-premises, cloud based and hybrid solutions within big data environments such as MapR, Hortonworks, Cloudera, AWS EMR, Google Cloud, IBM BigInsights, Teradata etc.
• Guiding, mentoring and influencing architectural direction and principles adoption
• Building rapid proto-types for presentations / sales proposals
• Preparing proposals and pre-sales presentations for clients around analytics and cloud solutions

Desired Skills:

• Experience and proven track record with Hadoop/Big Data platforms
• Experience working with one or more cloud computing environments (Microsoft Azure Cloud, Amazon Web Services(AWS), Google Cloud Computing)
• Strong experience in integrating Hadoop/Big Data/Cloud platform with enterprise level data management tools like Informatica, IBM InfoSphere
• Experience in designing and integrating enterprise wide applications and systems into a centralized data store (data lake, data warehouse and/or data hub)
• Experience in Lambda architecture end-to-end design and build process of near-real time and batch data pipelines
• Deep understanding of the Hadoop ecosystem and strong conceptual knowledge in Hadoop/Big Data architecture components
• Experience in defining, planning and executing data strategies
• Experience in designing and implementing data quality and data governance solutions
• Strong experience with complex SQL and data modelling
• Hands on programming experience in Java, Scala, Python, or Shell Scripting is a must
• Hands on working experience on tools like Hive, Spark, HBase, Zeppelin, Sqoop, Storm, Impala, Kafka, Flume, Flink, Oozie etc
• Experience with various ingestion patterns for large data sets experience with open source and NoSQL technologies (e.g. MongoDB, Redis) at an enterprise level

About you
You will be an accomplished consultant and enjoy helping provide strategic solutions around all things data-centric with previous experience across business intelligence, data warehousing, big data, advanced analytics or reporting environments.

Your past experience might have found you playing the role of:

• Information Architect / Data Architect / Big Data Architect
• Data warehouse Solution Designer / Solution Architect / Information management architect
• Fluent in English, and Chinese (both written and verbal). Knowing Mandarin would be an advantage
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree and more than 10 years of related work experience
• As a senior member of the team you will wear various hats and be involved in:
• Running large engagements or multiple small engagements
• Contributing your expertise to strategy and roadmaps
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
• Contributing to the growth of the Hong Kong practice
• Presenting to C-level executives

Your experience in all things data will see you optimizing and recommending leading edge solutions which will assist the client in achieving project milestones. You will have a consulting approach to any challenges and the attitude to go above and beyond to provide services to the clients.
