One of our amazing Hospitality clients has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller to join their team in Maidstone.

As their Financial Controller you will know and understand what it means to deliver amazing hospitality and will thrive on the challenge of always exceeding guest’s expectations. You will be expected to achieve a high level of service through the constant monitoring of their established brand standards. As a result you should be highly attentive to detail and be capable of delivering consistent standards. You should have a warm, personable nature and a can do attitude. In this type of industry teamwork is key; you should be a strong team player willing to lend a hand wherever needed.

You must have experience in a similar environment with the knowledge and confidence to deliver the role described below combined with a passion for delivering exceptional service through your team.

As Financial Controller you will:

  • Manage the Finance function in line with the Company guidelines and agreed deadlines.
  • Drive consistent standards and control performance through audits, forecasting, business planning and budgeting.
  • This role is all about driving consistency, challenging the business’s performance and consolidating people development and overall management of your team.
  • You will lead special projects across the brand as allocated by the Finance Director as and when required.
  • Deliver the financial strategy consistently throughout the year
  • Communicate the financial strategy and create buy-in with other operational managers - with clear communication and support.
  • Monitor progress on the delivery of the financial strategy with daily/weekly/monthly forecasting inline with budget.
  • Monthly departmental forecast, P&L and benchmark reviews with the site management to highlight exceptions & prioritise areas of concern
    • Monitor departmental performance to implement best practice across all areas of the business by use of the standard internal and external benchmark reports
    • Provide support and challenge to management for completion of annual business plan.
    • Manage the Finance Team to provide the hotel internal audit function to include - daily audit, daily banking and cash control and float control
  • Recruit, train and develop the finance team in all aspects of the finance function
  • Manage the accurate completion of month end stock counts, investigate, 'exceptional' stock discrepancies and implement the relevant procedures to reduce stock deficits - support reporting heads with controls and measures to impact budget.
  • Work effectively with other departments within the hotel.
