Position: Financial Controller Job Summary Under the current structure of the company, the Finance Controller is the person in charge of the correct operation of all the financial issues and tasks on a daily basis including but not limited to Financial Analysis, Financial Reports, Budgets and Forecasts, assisting the External and Internal Audits, control of Assets and Liabilities, Accounts receivable and payables, reconciliations and Cash flow projections and management and provide all information to corporate financial office in Colombia. Responsibilities • Preparation and review of Financial Statements • Preparation and review of all the accounting reports including but not limited to trial balance, inventories, food and beverage costs, month end reports, account receivables and accounts payables to be sent to Corporate Offices in Colombia. • As part of the new structure of the company to implement and to train all the accounting staff in the new accounting standards and procedures implemented by Decameron Hotels and Resorts. • As part of the new structure of the company to ensure implementation to the new Enterprise Resource Planning system (CTANET, HODELINE) that is customized for Decameron (ERP). • To review all the bank processes of the Jamaican Property including but not limited to cash flow, checks preparation, checks signature, bank reconciliation, wire transfers, bank online, checks and petty cash authorization, etc. • To control the whole accounting processes • To coordinate and assist all the processes involved in external and internal audits. • To review and approve trial balances • To review and approve all the taxes calculation and to ensure that Decameron Properties in Jamaica are on compliance about taxes payments and presentation dates. • To review and approve all the month entries in the accounting books and the month end process. • In coordination with the General Managers and Regional Manager, to ensure and to establish strong relationship with insurance companies to coordinate and sent to Colombia (head office) for approval all the insurance policies to cover the Decameron properties in Jamaica. • To prepare all the financial reports needed to give information and support to the Regional Manager and his operation team to take adequate decisions in the normal operation of the business. • To attend operations meetings to review and give support to the Operations Departments. • To coordinate all the purchasing processes and Purchasing Committee meetings to support and help the operation departments to comply with Budget and financial goals. • To prepare with all the Heads of Departments and all the budgets and Capital Expenditure reports and to discuss and receive approval from Corporate Offices in Colombia. • To assist all the head of departments about accounting processes, reports, budgets and controls. • To have control and prepare reports for corporate offices related to all the Hotels assets and operating equipment. • To ensure the collection and be on compliance with all the licensees, taxes, permits, etc. needed to run the Hotels under Jamaica´s Laws. Minimum Requirements Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline. At least 5 years of experience in Hotel Finance business, audits management and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) implementation. Trainings IFRS, Audits. Bilingual in Spanish would be an asset T Skills CTANET, HODELINE, Microsoft Office. Basic Knowledge Accounting Systems, IFRS, Reporting, Financial Statements, Audits. Desired Skills Ability to work with and communicate effectively with internal customers. Able to take ownership and resolve challenging situations with the good judgment to know when to appropriately escalate matters as needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent problem solving, time management, reporting, data analysis/interpretation skills. High standard of discipline, ethics and confidentiality Comfortable working extended hours as needed
