To ensure that all site construction activities conducted under the SMP Contract proceed within schedule and budget, in accordance with the project specifications with key responsibility for human and plant resources.

Key Experiences & Skills

  • A degree or other relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong Information Systems skills, & Computer literacy
  • An understanding of and commitment to the safety, environmental and quality systems
  • Excellent communication, presentation and time management skills
  • Excellent personnel management skills, including the ability to motivate others

    Primary Responsibilities

  • Day to day technical Engineering support to the Superintendents, Supervisors, documentation, and work packs;
  • Preparation, submission and tracking of technical queries, variations and delays;
  • Assist in the development, maintenance and administration of management systems and procedures e.g. Access Database FP073;
  • Preparation and update of project plans and Primavera P6 schedules from project commencement through to completion;
  • General project start-up and close out assistance;
  • Client daily and weekly reporting, including collation of relevant information;
  • Assist the Project Controls lead in internal progress reporting;
  • Assist in the development of the construction work packs required for contract execution. Ensure the work packs contain;
  • Clear scope of work,
  • All quality documents required,
  • All engineering information required,
  • Budgeted resources and materials,
  • Schedule of works.
  • Assisting Project Manager and Project Controls Lead with;
    • Establishing budgets,
    • Cost control and programming,
    • Preparation and submission of variations / claims and tracking of approval status,
    • Co-ordination of project related supplier invoicing and subcontractor payments,
    • Preparation of Sub-contractor payments and certifications.
  • Provide coordination of project engineering and construction stakeholders. Build and maintain effective relationships;
  • Organise and attend the project kick off meeting, record and distribute meeting minutes;
  • Attend and contribute to assigned projects constructability reviews;
  • Coordinate and contribute to assigned project risk assessments;

General Responsibilities

  • Technical development of the construction work packs required for contract execution. Ensure the work packs contain;
    • optimised technical scope of work,
    • all quality documents required,
    • all engineering information required,
  • budgeted resources and materials,
  • schedule of works.

    Assisting Project Managers with;

  • Technical and commercial evaluation of scope
  • Establishing budgets and tender submission docs
    • Cost control and programming,
    • Managing claims to the client and subsequent follow up,
    • Preparation and submission of variations / claims
    • Co-ordination of project related supplier invoicing and subcontractor payments,
    • Preparation of Sub-contractor payments and certifications.
