Job Title: Accountant
Location: Bicester
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 plus benefits.

Main Purpose of the job:

The purpose of this role is primarily financial reporting into the Group, control of the balance sheet, profit and loss as well as cash flow reporting and control and overall cash management.

This role will facilitate the accounting and systems integration of European group subsidiaries.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supporting and assisting with the preparation of half year statutory accounts under IFRS
  • Preparation of accurate, timely and informative monthly management accounts
  • Completion of regulatory returns including but not limited to FCA, Corporate tax, National statistics and other statutory returns
  • Liaison with Auditors
  • Supporting and contributing to the preparation of Board Packs and Group Consolidation
  • Balance sheet reconciliation
  • International cash reconciliations
  • Dealing with complex queries
  • Dealing with multiple currencies
  • Evaluating Foreign Exchange charges
  • Providing support on systems projects
  • Providing support to a range of departments across the business including cash collection for Norwegian debtors
  • VAT returns
  • Preparation of monthly payroll
  • Fixed assets register and internal audit
  • Contribute towards company-wide projects as required
  • Month end reporting, variance analysis, projecting and amending figures
  • Oversee ledgers and ensure accuracy of work produced
  • Provide ad hoc information for the MI reports
  • Carry out P&L and Balance Sheet Analysis

Required Skills and Experience:

  • ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualification with at least 2 years post qualification experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure with a flexible attitude.
  • Proven experience of having implemented and monitored financial controls.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to deal with and interpret large volumes of complex data.
  • Confidence communicating at all levels of the business up to and including
  • Directors and Board Members.
  • Conscientious, reliable and self-motivated.
  • Proven experience of having worked in PLC organisations will be advantageous.
  • Management accounting experience including budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting.
  • IT literacy including advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Proficiency in financial accounting and reporting including external statutory reporting and auditing.
