Semi-Senior Accountant - Fantastic opportunity on the Wirral

An excellent opportunity has arisen at a dynamic and progressive firm of chartered accountants based on the Wirral. The firm are looking to appoint a personable and hardworking individual to their growing firm. The successful candidate will be working on a varied and interesting client portfolio, and will be given the opportunity to develop their practical experience.

The ideal candidate will ideally have a minimum of 2-3 years’ accountancy experience working in a practice environment. As well as this, you will have a strong work ethic and be committed to delivering exceptional client service. You will possess good IT skills, excellent organisational and communication skills and have a proactive and self-starting attitude.

Support and training will be provided as required, by their friendly and highly experienced team, and a study/training package may also be available depending on the successful candidate’s background. Part-time hours (upwards of 24 hours per week) will also be considered.

The key areas of responsibility for this position are:

• Preparation of limited company and sole trader accounts
• Bookkeeping
• Assisting with the planning and execution of audit work
• Payroll and P11d’s
• VAT returns
• Personal and corporation tax returns
• Dealing with clients and answering any queries

Previous audit experience would be seen as a benefit as the firm have a growing number of audit clients. Therefore there may be scope for aspects of audit work for the right candidate at certain times of the year. Experience of using Xero and CCH also considered a benefit. The role will be principally based at their office but, as and when required; work will also be undertaken at their clients’ offices.
