We now have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Project Manager to join our Onshore Service business. Through effective collaboration alongside an operational partner, this role will provide sound commercial management and drive optimal financial performance of the projects. The projects are long term service and maintenance contracts for Onshore windfarms. The CPM has no direct reports, works closely with existing site management and reports directly and functionally to the Commercial Head of Onshore Operations. What are my responsibilities? The primary responsibility of this role will be the commercial management of Service contracts during the operational phase of the contract. Working as a business partner to operations management, the objective is to keep the project on budget, within the Siemens QHSE framework, and customer satisfaction but also continually looking at improving contract profitability. The role includes undertaking detailed financial analysis, contract reviews, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting. The Commercial Project Manager is responsible for handling day to day commercial issues together with the Windfarm site team and is the commercial partner to the Project Manager maximising both service profit and customer satisfaction. A critical part of your role will be to identify commercial impacts of issues arising, provide input to risk assessment and manage the risk mitigation activities. As a part of the project set-up and closure activities you will keep track of contract changes, ensure internal agreements are finalised and agree final commercial settlements with the customer. You will also contribute alongside the sales team, on costings for renewals and tenders. You will have the responsibility to report on project activities internally and externally including forecasting and planning. Other key tasks will include understanding the scope of the contract, understanding deviations between actual and expected gross margins, identifying potential outgoing claims and defending incoming claims, risk and opportunity management, driving closure of commercial issues to completion with a high degree of ownership and proactive participation in regular forecast reviews. What do I need to qualify for this job? The ideal candidate for this role will be a qualified accountant holding a qualification such as ACA/CIMA/ACCA. You will have proven experience in a financial based role, ideally in a project related role, within the Energy sector. You will have excellent knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS). You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and will be able to manage internal and external stakeholders effectively and in a timely manner. You will be able to adapt with the changing needs of the business and project and be a versatile individual who can deliver on multiple conflicting priorities. Lastly, this role requires someone who is IT competent and proficient with the use Microsoft Office, with extensive excel capability. How do I apply?
