Budgeting processes and procedures

To lead, manage and advise on budget planning, forecasting and monitoring processes including monthly, quarterly and year end reporting

To provide leadership, advice and guidance to managers on Business Planning processes, transformation and continuous improvement

To lead, manage and advise on the maintenance and implementation of strong financial controls across the organisation

To lead on business performance reporting and analysis in support of financial decision making processes across the organisation to include business case and project evaluation

To lead on the management and continuous development of budget setting and monitoring procedures providing accurate and timely financial information to assist senior management with short and long term decision making

Work in conjunction with the FD in reviewing and updating charge-out rates used for budgeting and billing clients Project finances and procedures

To lead and direct on financial aspects of research projects across FR; to include internal and external contracts in the UK and EU/overseas

To review and advise on new commercial opportunities

In conjunction with the FD develop a robust financial strategy to provide assurance, balancing risk, value for money, corporate and strategic requirements to deliver benefit Staff management

Develop and line manage the Finance Support Manager (Systems & Budgets) and the Procurement Advisor
