Highfield Healthcare invites applications for the above senior leadership post as the organisation commences the reconfiguration of existing mental health services to provide for new specialist programmes and additional acute inpatient and day hospital services.  Our new Specialist Rehabilitation Unit (SRU) is due to be commissioned in October 2018.  The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and change management skills, excellent business sense and a strategic approach to the development of services and organisation structures.  The post requires a proven track record of embracing continuous quality improvement with a clear focus on achieving full regulatory compliance in accordance with the Mental Health Commission's Judgement Support Framework. Have had adequate experience of psychiatric nursing. Have had satisfactory knowledge of psychiatric nursing administrative procedures. (b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. (c)  A qualification in healthcare management or equivalent is desirable but not essential. Skills, competencies and/or knowledge Display a high level of experience and knowledge relevant to the role including knowledge of legislation associated with Mental Health Service provision and associated governance structures and knowledge of strategies associated with the provision and development of Mental Health services Demonstrate understanding and/ or experience of Mental Health services development Demonstrate strategic and system thinking including the ability to adapt a corporate overview; sees the bigger picture of service delivery and appreciates the interconnectedness of issues. Demonstrate the ability to establish policy, systems and structures. Designs and implements structured policies and systems for the management of service delivery in consultation with key stakeholders and ensures clear role accountability for service levels, quality and decision-making discretion. Demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues ensuring that a partnership approach is adapted to the management of the services. Demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills including the ability to work within the Senior Management Team. Displays a developmental approach to staff. Demonstrate evidence of effective planning and organising skills including experience in resource management and achieving value for money Demonstrate ability to manage deadlines and effectively handle multiple tasks Demonstrate strong communication skills including: the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner; the ability to facilitate and manage groups through the learning process; the ability to give constructive feedback to encourage learning Demonstrate awareness and appreciation of the service user. Demonstrate a strong commitment to developing and providing a quality service and leads on vision, values and processes. Takes the lead on standards setting and implementation; leads and manages change. Solve problems and makes decisions in a timely manner. Influences and negotiates with others.
