Job Description

Seeking an experienced Business Analyst (BA) to identify and document business and system processes related to Navy Business IT applications and systems. This position is located at Norfolk Naval Base.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The BA will be a key contributor supporting process and requirement analysis for the next generation Naval Aviation Maintenance System. This includes:
  • Work with subject matter experts and other business analysts to decompose Navy Business IT systems policies and processes to identify software requirements.
  • Perform gap analysis to identify missed or value–added functionality.
  • Diagram/flowchart business processes, user interactions and data flows.
  • Develop and maintain a repository for requirements and supplemental documentation.
  • Conduct and/or participate in requirement elicitation activities with stakeholders.
  • Conduct meetings and make presentations as directed to communicate information or progress in specific areas.
  • Report progress regarding analysis activities to management.
  • Develop test and acceptance plans.
  • Work with business owners to develop test cases and to manage the testing process for various initiatives.
  • US Citizen.
  • SECRET Clearance – must be current.
  • 5+ years experience performing business analysis, to include activities such as requirements elicitation, documentation and management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency performing critical and analytical thinking.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft productivity tools (ex. Word, Excel).
  • Proficiency diagramming business processes and systems (using tools such as MS Visio, Enterprise Architect).
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification or higher (ex. CompTIA Security+, CASP, CISSP) or capability to obtain within 6 months from hire.
  • Willingness to do some travel for training and support.
Typical demands associated with a fast–paced office environment. Ability to work on a computer for long periods (including occasional overtime) in the Customer s office, and communicate with other Team Members by telephone, email, face to face and via web–based communication tools. Telework is not authorized for this position.
