Job Title Trainee Accountant – ACCA
Reports to Manager
Hours 37.5 hours per week
Qualification Level A minimum of 2 A Levels (A-C) and 3 GCSEs (A-C) or a complete AAT level 4 qualification
Salary Range Competitive for location
Location Taunton, Somerset
For those candidates who are sixth-form leavers we can offer you a route into higher education with a career path, on-the-job experience and a learning opportunity which goes beyond the textbooks.
For those who might be entering the ACCA at a later stage in your career, we would be looking to push you to develop the knowledge you have gained in your AAT’s and to help you to gain those all-important practical skills which will complement your technical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of accounts files, for review by manager.
* Production of tax returns and VAT returns.
* To proactively bring matters to the attention of the managers
* To deliver excellent client service
* To organise own time and workload
Key Person Requirements
* A minimum of 2 A Levels (A-C) and 3 GCSEs (A-C) or a complete AAT level 4 qualification.
* A keen interest in accountancy, where the A level subjects studied did not pertain to accountancy, business or finance.
* A high standard of ethics, both professional and personal.
* Good organisational skills, attention to detail and communication skills are essential.
* Previous exposure or interest in our specialisms would be preferable, but is not essential.
* General IT proficiency
The successful candidate would not only focus on helping staff to gain the technical knowledge required to qualify as an accountant but work with their trainees to develop their commercial awareness and presentation skills alongside gaining an understanding of ethics within a practical environment. We believe that this combination of theoretical, practical and personal skills help to create an accountant who can be truly effective in today’s market.
We are seeking candidates who will excel within our business, using innovative thinking and entrepreneurial minds to build on our successes. A high level of numeracy, though essential, is not the only feature we look for in our employees. We require candidates to possess excellent communication skills, a high level of professionalism and intelligent, inquisitive minds.
