Recovery & Reorganisation (“R&R”) is currently represented in more than 50 countries in the Grant Thornton international network and provides a range of services to underperforming businesses and their stakeholders. Our core purpose is to preserve or create value.
Globally, we assist and advise companies and their creditors (mostly banks or other large lenders) on financially distressed situations, the options available to the debtor and/or lender and the execution of recommended strategies. Some of the more frequent services provided by R&R globally include:-
- Independent business and solvency reviews
- Short term cash flow review and monitoring
- Options analysis and contingency planning
- Accelerated disposals
- Solvent liquidations and corporate simplification
- Statutory insolvency assignments
- Restructuring advisory
R&R is a relatively new service line for Grant Thornton in India. At the current time most of our projects are statutory insolvency assignments – Insolvency Resolution for Corporate Persons pursuant to the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (“IBC”). These IBC assignments require us to supervise the resolution process including the trading of the debtor’s business during the resolution period. Other projects include cash flow reviews and monitoring.
Our ambition and expectation is that the practice will develop and grow at a fast rate to include some or all of the other above listed services. As such this vacancy represents an opportunity for a suitably ambitious individual to join at an early stage in the Grant Thornton India R&R journey.
