Position Title: Country Manager - Camara Education Ethiopia Reporting to : Head of Africa Operations Location : Addis Ababa, Ethiopia   Background Camara Education Ltd is an international education organisation dedicated to deliver real impact through technology by inspiring and empowering a young generation to improve their own life opportunities. It currently operates five Education Hubs in Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Zambia, Lesotho and Tanzania), and one in Ireland, alongside a Resource Hub in Dublin and London. All Hubs operate as social enterprises and operate to serve local market needs through a sustainable business model. Since 2005, Camara has enabled over 2 million young people to achieve better educational outcomes and thus improve their life opportunities, through raising and generating €24m, training 26,000+ teachers across 5,300 schools and educational institutes, and installing 90,000+ ICT devices.   Basic objective of the Role: The Hub Country Manager will provide leadership and direction, and coordinate all activities of the local Hub to achieve its targets set and in accordance with the organisational strategy and agreed plans with Camara Education Limited. Closing date for receipt of applications is Tuesday, June 26th 2018 with early applications welcome.   Key Responsibilities Management Develop and follow strategic plan for the hub in coordination with staff and hub management team Build on and develop the social enterprise business model to sustain the hub's core operations Ensure that all financial and non-financial reporting requirements are met on a timely and regular basis in addition to the preparation of quarterly operational reviews. Ensure compliance with all local legislation and regulatory bodies and work to minimise risks in our operations Leadership Build and maintain a high performance culture through effective performance management, communication and coaching of staff Provide clear leadership and promote and foster a team culture consistent with the organisation's values Ensure the recruitment of appropriately skilled staff and volunteers to positions, and establish appropriate remuneration levels and performance based conditions for staff within the framework agreed with Camara Education Limited Work collaboratively with the Camara Development Team Business Development Develop the network of Camara Schools and wider customer base Maintain and ongoing development of the relationship with the Ministry of Education and other relevant government and non-government bodies in Ethiopia Promote the Camara brand locally.
