Primarily provides technical expertise and management account reporting to local management and Group.
Responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of financial and management providing technical advice to the Reporting Team and wider business. In addition there will be Internal and External Audit support, and the calculation and reporting of indirect taxes, National Statistics surveys and ad hoc information requests.

Description
- Deputising for the Reporting Manager
- Contingency cover for teams Key/Critical tasks
- Ensure management information and associated reporting are accurate and delivered on time.
- Provide Reporting Manager with weekly updates and priorities
- Manage indirect taxes reporting timelines and submissions
- Ensure compliance with relevant SOX requirements for their team
- Ensure Internal and External audit requests and issues are resolved and delivered on a timely basis
- Provide technical expertise and support around FRS102 accounting treatments
- Review work (& knowledge share) of the Assistant Accountant
- Timely completion of assigned tasks per the month end timetable
- Support ongoing drive to reduce turnaround for month end reporting to 4 working days
- Ensure completion and documentation of monthly SOX MRC's (Management Review Controls) and IPE (Information Produced by the Entity) for the Reporting Team
- Lead on the reconciliation of key/complex Balance Sheet control accounts
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements to ensure effective and efficient completion of individual and team responsibilities
- Support project work to ensure ongoing compliance around indirect tax matters ie. VAT
- Delivery of timely and accurate financial reporting and management accounts
- End-to-end responsibility for External / SOX & Internal Audit management and performance reporting
- Indirect taxes- review, business queries etc
- 20-25% Project work - Lease Accounting, Technical updates, new standards implementation, impact assessments and roll out, general CI - One Finance activities
