Statutory Analyst LocationPetaling Jaya - Malaysia The Statutory Analyst is primarily responsible for the compliance process for a country with specific responsibility for ensuring that overall statutory accounts are properly recorded, reconciled and supported by underlying documentations. The position holder is responsible for ensuring high quality statutory financial information is prepared for global Schlumberger legal entities as well as preparing global financial reports. Nevertheless, Statutory Analyst would be reporting to the Statutory Accounting Manager and strongly communicating along with the team and lead fellow colleagues. Responsibilities Ensure timely and accurate production of financial statements in accordance with local GAAP and country statutory reporting requirement; Prepare supporting documentation for statutory financial statements in line with local GAAP to a standard ready for external audit; Regularly review the legal entity results during the year to understand drivers of revenue & profitability, in addition to full understanding of the balance sheet; Maintain general ledger accounts and related processes for the production of financial statements and reports; Ensure that the accounting entries are in compliance with Schlumberger Finance Knowledge documents and internal controls rules; Understands the end to end process under his/her responsibility, report gaps and propose improvement; Contribute to process Standardization and Automation; Reconciles and controls differences between Statutory and USGAAP accounting practices; Responsible for preparation of supporting schedules for tax authority audits and statutory audits; Understands, reviews, implements and complies with Sarbanes Oxley requirements as defined in the risk control matrix; Liaise with Schlumberger / Hub local finance staff (plant/project controllers) around the world to build out statutory packs and finalise financial statements; Communicate and provide information to external auditors and global finance team to ensure an efficient audit process; Analyse and prepare reports to support transfer pricing and cross border billing processes consistent with the tax organizations guidance; Indirect tax analysis and compliance; Ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required; Complies with all applicable company policies. Qualifications Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree, Master's Degree in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent. Excellent communication skills; strong English command required. At least have 3 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
