Hays Accountancy & Finance is working in partnership with a large SME manufacturing business located in West Hull to appoint a Manufacturing Accountant. Located in pleasant surroundings, the company is easily accessible from Hull, Beverley, Market Weighton, Howden, Goole, Selby, Scunthorpe, and Barton. The company is successful and profitable and is part of a large privately owned group of businesses. The company sells to both the UK & European markets and employs in the region of 200 staff. They are a friendly business and benefit from modern offices and on site car parking. The position of Manufacturing Accountant offers a genuine opportunity for career progression in the next 18 months to 2 years.

Your new role
Reporting to the Site Accountant, you will be responsible for understanding and accounting for all costs incurred during the manufacturing process. You will produce labour analysis for existing products, cost analysis and comparisons for new products, budgeting and forecasting costs for new products, inventory management, and VAT analysis. In addition, you will support the production of the monthly management accounts, champion the change and development of the IT system, and work as part of a multi-disciplined team on various projects to drive the business further forward.

What you will need to succeed
You will be a part or fully qualified accountant with recent experience of working for a manufacturing business.

You will have experience of one or more of the following: standard costing, product costing, variance analysis, inventory management, and labour cost analysis.
