Responsible for the provision of professional procurement advice and support. Our client is seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized procurement officer to exercises considerable independent judgment in making purchasing decisions
Job Description:
· Manage tendering processes ensuring that they are conducted
appropriately
· Devise and prepare contract documentation for high value, complex
portfolio of goods and services
· Compiling and maintaining all documentation for procurement
processes
· Assist in business partnering with key stakeholders in developing a
procurement strategy, policy and procedure
· Develop and maintain appropriate systems of internal control to enable
the purchasing function to operate effectively, efficiently and ethically
· Assist in the understanding, interpretation and managing of the terms
of contract in order to maximise the operational and organisational
benefit to key stakeholders
· Develop and maintain relationships both internally with all stakeholders
and externally with suppliers to ensure the smooth operation of the
procurement function
· Proactively oversee and manage any contract or agreement awarded in
line with the service and performance terms
· Ensuring an effective and efficient communication mechanism is
maintained between stakeholders
· Prepare financial analyses and forecasts of future and current
expenditure on contracts to ensure costs and savings are within the
proposed budgetary constraints
· Coordinate and assist in the completion of financial reports, payment
documents and overall financial oversight
Person Specification:
· Candidates should have the Graduate Diploma of the Chartered
Institute of Purchasing and Supply, or at least be substantially qualified.
· Previous experience as procurement officer or related position is
essential
· Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy,
and systems
· Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time efficiently
· Accurate and precise attention to detai
· Ability to work well with management and staff at all level
· Goal-oriented, organized team player
Additional Information:
· Based in Leatherhead
· £35,000 - £45,000
· 26 days holiday plus bank holidays (Incremental pay rises, for up to five
years, for staff who meet the qualifying conditions)
