Your new role:



Nigel Wright Group are delighted to be supporting an FMCG business in their recruitment of an Accountant within the sales and marketing function of the business. This role will be to provide a foccussed financial service to the sales and marketing departments, as well as Senior managers within the company.

The role will be to provide customer and product margin analysis, manage sales related liabilities, third party royalties, and overheads relating to the Sales and Marketing departments.

The duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Producing a monthly Sales pack with detailed analysis of both customer and product performance.
  • Producing monthly reports on brand performance, to be issues to both the Marketing department and relevant third parties.
  • Ensuring that customer related liabilities from either Joint Business Plans or promotional activities are correctly accounted and reported within the relevant period.
  • Continually monitor the outstanding position on all third party royalties, through understanding contractual commitments and fixed elements contained within.
  • Manage, account for and report on overhead spend within the Sales and Marketing departments.
  • Providing detailed standard margin analysis for the Sales Team.
  • Assisting the finance team with weekly KPI reporting.
  • Attending the weekly Sales Meetings to provide financial support and assistance to this department.
  • Regularly analyse the effectiveness of promotional activity and report upon the impact of differing promotional mechanics.
  • Working in close harmony with operational finance personnel in order to have a thorough grasp on all product costs and impact changes that these have on profitability of the business.
  • Acting as the key point of contact for external auditors on all financial matters pertaining to customer and royalty liabilities.

As the ideal candidate, you will:

  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA Part or Newly Qualified.
  • Good IT Skills in order to deal with large data sets - Advanced Excel
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable working in a large open plan office environment.
  • Proactive - someone with the ability to challenge, improve and implement ideas through experience and training.
  • Study support will be available for the right candidate.
