Investment Officer - Essex Pensions Fund
Location: County Hall, ChelmsfordSalary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time, 37 per week

Within Essex County Council is the Essex Pension Fund whose responsibility it is to deliver services in relation to the Local Government Pension Scheme plus Police & Fire uniformed schemes. This award winning pensions team currently has vacancies for some key roles, which will be central to how the Fund meets the future demands of its stakeholders.
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an Investment Officer who will play a key role in both the delivery and accounting of the Investment Strategy. The successful candidate will implement asset transfers and mandate changes while also being responsible for the delivery of the investment accounting throughout the year. The post holder will be required to pro-actively support the Investment Manager with both internal and external audits and also assist Fund Officers involved in accounting/year end closure activities identifying any training requirements. It will be essential to understand and maintain knowledge with any developments within the Government’s asset pooling agenda and its impact on the Fund.About You
A qualified Accounting Technician (AAT) or part qualified accountant with experience of the public sector and investment markets. You will have experience of custody systems and be proficient in investment performance analytics. You must have excellent communication and personable skills as you will be required to support Elected Members both verbally and in written form. Having a thorough understanding of Windows programmes, you will be able to demonstrate your capabilities by using pivot/lookup, tables and macros. You will possess a natural ability to identify any inaccuracies, demonstrate a strong work ethic and remain reliable and positive all of which will be required in order to build strong relationships with various stakeholders across the Council and external organisations.Rewards
