Robert Half have an exciting opportunity within a legal company in the payroll team for a Payroll Manager in Southampton, providing efficient and accurate accounting support within the finance department.
This role is key to ensuring that the payrolls are submitted, reviewed and paid in a timely manner and are recorded and reconciled accurately.
Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Manager include:
- End to end processing of various payrolls, each with their own complexities.
- Acting as the main point of contact with external payroll providers.
- Review of externally prepared payroll files and reconciliation to inputs.
- Managing the monthly workflow / delegation skills, along with ability / willingness for interactive reviewing of other payrolls processors work
- Preparation of payroll journals and month-end reconciliations.
- Ensuring payment of payroll and payroll related taxes and other costs by relevant deadlines.
- Administrative tasks - e.g. Payslips, year-end tax certificates and close monitoring of payroll mailboxes and action of items requiring attention.
- Dealing queries from employees and external providers.
- Responsible for monitoring various payroll allowances across regions.
- Assisting with posting of ad hoc journals at month-end.
Key Requirements of the Payroll Manager are:
- An extensive experience in payroll, working in running multiple payrolls such as PAYE,Ltd, Umbrella etc.
- Previous work and knowledge in HMRC, SSP, SMP, PAYE, NIC, RTI, Pension Processing, etc
- Experience of processing company payroll at a large volume
- Dealing with multiple client payrolls, of varying size from 1 person payrolls through to +250 persons payrolls, and everything in between, including weekly, fortnightly and (mainly) monthly payrolls
- Dealing with all related reporting both internal and external is essential.
- Sage Payroll software experience or similar is preferable
Travelling is necessary for this role, own mode of transport and a full clean Driving License is required.
Salary: Circa £30,000 DOE +Company Benefits
