Group Head Office Management Accountant

This is an exciting and rare opportunity for a Group Head Office Management Accountant to join our Group Finance team in Witney. This role would be ideal for a tenacious individual who enjoys a challenge. Reporting to and working closely with the Group Financial Controller, the role requires a future leader who shares the vision and will be "self-starting" in driving forward its delivery whilst having good judgement on keeping the Group Financial Controller well briefed on key issues and workstreams. The successful candidate will be working as part of the Group Finance team based in the Head Office in Witney, with frequent travel to the Group’s FSSC in Bristol. The main purpose of this role is to prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts for all the Head Office functions within Nationwide, as well as operating as the Finance Business Partner to various Head office department heads. You will also be responsible for balance sheet reconciliations, overhead management, KPI packs, general accruals and prepayments, revenue and cost of accruals. This is not an exhaustive list and further duties will be discussed at interview.

As a Group Head Office Accountant, we would like you to have an interest and passion in what we do. This is a key role and will require an individual with demonstrable experience, capable of operating with autonomy. Experience of working in a similar role is desirable and you must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of your performance at interview. You must be highly I.T. literate with emphasis around using Excel V Look-ups and pivot tables as well as having a keen eye for detail. Experience of using Pegasus Opera would be an advantage but not essential. You must be able to effectively communicate, both written and verbally and work under pressure and tight deadlines. You must also have a formal accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
