Management Accountant

Sewell Wallis are currently working with a unique and rapidly growing business based in York. They are currently looking for a Management Accountant who will adapt to a fast paced and ever-changing environment due to the increased growth in new acquired business over the last few years.

They would like a Management Accountant who has substantial experience within a similar role and can demonstrate that they can build relationships effectively within a large and successful firm, who are recognised across the UK.

The key responsibilities for the role will include:

The preparation of monthly management accounts including the creation and posting of journals.
­Creation, maintenance and posting of accruals, prepayments.
­Reconciling inter-company transactions.
­Payroll analysis, creation and posting of journals.
­Maintaining existing balance sheet reconciliations to cover fixed assets, current assets and current liabilities with back up documentation for review.
­Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, raising depreciation journals and posting.
­Producing monthly Profit & Loss variance analysis to forecast for line manager review.
­Monthly VAT validation, quarterly returns and reconciliations.
Setting up and maintaining branch accounting within Practices.
­Preparation of the aged debtor report.

The ideal candidate will:

Have at least 3-4 years experience in a similar role, in particular strong balance sheet reconciliations knowledge.
Proven experience building/maintaining key relationships within the business both internal and external.
Strong Excel skills.
Ability to adapt to change in a fast paced role (prior knowledge of working in a similar role would be desirable)
