Adecco are recruiting a qualified accountant to work as treasurer for our client based in the center of Kendal town, this is a part time role working 18-20 hours per week, days of work can be flexible but ideally a Monday will be one of these.

The Treasurer will be the Financial Officer of the Company and will be expected to advise the company on, and assist in the formation of overall policies to be followed, in respect of financial matters and in particular, to produce all the information required for making effective financial decisions, to make suggestions on the efficient use of finances and to implement constructively all decisions.

Specific Responsibilities
* Ensure that statutory financial and other financial provisions are observed.
* Prepare, in consultation with appropriate Committees, the annual Budget and Precept.
* Prepare the Annual Return and Accounts.
* Prepare the annual VAT Return.
* Operate the grant programme.
* Pepare income and expenditure reports for use at Committees and prepare a monthly Schedule of Payments and a quarterly financial statement for presentation.
* Check, certify receipt, ensure authorisation and pay all invoices received
* Undertake a monthly bank reconciliation.
* Ensure the appointment of an Internal Auditor. Facilitate visits by the Auditor and liaise with the External Auditors as appropriate.
* Monitor and report on all loans and investments.
* Undertake an annual risk assessment and arrange for all insurances required.
* Attend training courses or seminars, as required, on subjects relevant to the role and responsibilities of the Treasurer.
