TOMRA Sorting Ltd is a leader in the design and the development of process technology for the food processing industry. TOMRA Is currently recruiting for an  Engineer to join as an important member of the Engineering team. The Role: The Application Development Engineer will be responsible for ensuring products/features operate at their highest possible performance and quality.  This is achieved by applying a detailed understanding of the relevant technology to objectively validate performance and assess whether it meets requirements.  By working closely with the development teams they can ensure that the technology is applied optimally and identify opportunities to improve the design/function of new and existing products.  They also have an important role in assessing whether a product is ready for market or whether further development is required.  This role would suit an individual who wants to work with a highly diverse group of professionals and has a great interest in developing within a world-class company. The role will provide the successful individual with an opportunity to travel and work in Europe and the US and a chance to work across the group's research and development departments. Responsibilities: Validation Defining acceptance criteria for a new product's/feature's performance. (Including FATs, PATs etc.) Validation and testing of new products and new features on existing products both in house and in the field. Support of prototype (pre-series) machines in the field Development Assist in the assembly and development of prototype products/features and test rigs Execute small research projects in collaboration with one or more other departments to explore the capabilities of newly developed technologies for specific food related applications. Work with development team to identify where/how improvements need to be made to the design Communication Is responsible for good communication with the other departments regarding the best practice, operation and configuration of products/features Documenting the achieved performance of new products/features and the recommended standard product/feature configuration. Provides assistance to the training department in giving and creating training material Act as product expert and the first point of contact within the engineering department (supporting Service/Production) In addition to the above you may be required for other of additional assignments. Requirements: 1-2 years experience in a similar position Bachelor degree in Engineering/Science Background in optics/hardware/electronics is a plus
