This UK manufacturer and distributor, has grown year on year into a multi-million pound organisation. They currently sell predominately across the UK which has a current market size of £100m. Following recent private equity investment to support continued growth, the CFO is looking to recruit a Financial Controller / Head of Finance with a view to longer term succession planning.

The business continues to move forward with a focused business plan which sees investment into new product development, increased sales through multiple channels and strong branding, plus international growth to mirror the success within the UK.

The role will have two key objectives; ensuring growth happens with sound financial control, but also bringing a strong business partnering approach providing value-adding information to aid senior commercial decision making.

Key responsibilities
• Lead, direct and develop the finance team to provide statutory and management information
• Budgeting, forecasts, cash management and KPI reporting for both internal decision makers and the external investors
• Drive change and improve financial performance across the business
• Maintain and continually develop robust systems, processes and controls
• Oversee all day to day activities and payments including currency and evaluating exposures
• Work closely with operations and the sales team reviewing ROI for new product development and entry into new markets, ensuring maximum margin is sustainable

The successful candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, is likely to have trained within a professional accountancy firm and will possess recent industry experience. Ideally you will have worked within a product based, retail, wholesale, manufacturing or FMCG environment.

Coupled with strong technical skills, you will have a proven track record in supporting the Board of a small or medium sized business by providing management information that helps business decision making. You will have excellent analytical skills with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
