Job Title: Director of Finance
Hours: Full time/ permanent
Salary: £50K - £55K per annum
Location: Winchester, Hampshire
We are working in partnership with Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium (WSC), an independent educational charity dedicated to sparking curiosity and building science capital for all. Boasting two floors of hands-on interactive exhibits, the UK’s largest standalone planetarium and a wide-ranging events programme, the Science Centre is an important regional hub for informal science learning and a popular visitor attraction for families, schools and the general public.
The charity is looking to appoint a Director of Finance to join the team and help shape the organisation through a period of significant growth. Reporting to the CEO and as part of the Senior Management Team, you will take strategic responsibility for the financial management and direction of the charity. You will ensure the income generation activities are financially viable in order to maintain a sound financial position and operate strategically to meet their charitable aims and objectives. The successful candidate will need to hold a recognised accountancy qualification (preferably ACCA/ CIMA, ACMA or ICAEW) and demonstrate experience in the following:

Three year’s experience in a management and leadership role

Managing and motivating a small team

Producing management accounts
-
Business planning
-
Monitoring the movement of cash
-
Producing/monitoring cash flow for an organisation with a turnover of in excess of £1m

Managing significant budgets and risk management process
