Private Client Tax Manager/ Senior Manager

Search Consultancy is currently recruiting a Private Client Tax Manager/Senior Manager for a leading independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Edinburgh.

In this role, you will take day-to-day responsibility for a diverse portfolio of clients including high net worth individuals, professional partnerships, family trusts and landed estates. You will manage a team of juniors, overseeing their workload and assisting with their training and development. There is significant opportunity to develop your experience with the top rated tax team in Scotland, and you will get the chance to operate across all sub sectors.

Responsibilities:

* Manage, develop and maintain relationships with a diverse and interesting portfolio of clients
* Planning and controlling all tax compliance work in the department
* Manage a team of junior/senior tax professionals
* Work closely with the Tax Partner to ensure all deadlines are met
* Business development activities on an ad hoc basis
* Keep up to date with relevant changes in tax legislation
* Carrying out technically demanding advisory projects on behalf of clients
* Preparation of fees, proposals, quotations and engagement letters

Required skills/Knowledge

* CTA qualified or qualified by experience
* STEP or ACCA/CA qualification will be considered
* Several years' experience within a professional practice environment is essential
* Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
* Commercial awareness would be an advantage, although not essential
* Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
* Willingness to maintain and develop technical knowledge
