We are currently working with a public sector organisation in the Poole area who are seeking a Project Accountant to join their finance team on an 18-month contract. (there is a high possibility this will be extended after this period).
Acting as finance lead on all major capital and revenue projects you will work closely with the Strategic Director. The role requires a strong Lead Accountant and someone qualified to a minimum of AAT.
The project accountant will be responsible for reviewing the current processes as well as assisting with capital projects. This role needs someone confident and organised who can manage and take role ownership.
You will be required to:
• Act as Lead Accountant on a wide range of projects; including major capital projects and projects to improve the integrity of financial and performance reporting across the organisation.
• Provide Others within the organisation with guidance, advice and support
• Support the Strategic Director with strong financial advice and control throughout the organisation.
• Be responsible for technical, accounting, budgeting, monitoring and financial management duties.
This role can be offered to the successful candidate on part time basis (29.6 hours per week and this can be over 4 or 5 days) or full time (37 hours per week).
