The Sterling Group have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join their growing team based in Warrington, Cheshire.
Job Title: Finance Assistant
Location: Warrington, Cheshire
Salary: £20,000 – £23,000 per annum + benefits
An opportunity has arisen for a part qualified accountant to join a market leader in contractor payroll processing based in Warrington. This newly created role will include all aspects of the finance department and is a fantastic opportunity for an AAT studier to progress. Full training package is available for current and future studying. The role reports directly to the Financial Controller and will work alongside a second Finance Assistant.
Finance Assistant - Key Responsibilities:
- Collection of debtors, proactive checking and chasing of contractor debt, resolving client queries and complaints
- Improve the timely collection of debt, while minimising the amounts written off.
- Purchase ledger, including, checking, processing and paying of the groups invoices
- Processing of weekly payments to Umbrella contractors
- Bank Reconciliations
- Balance Sheet controls
- Departmental analysis as required
- Other general finance, as determined by the financial controller
Finance Assistant - Requirements:
- Studying a professional financial qualification, AAT, CIMA.
- To be a team player, with the personality and ambition to succeed
- High level of IT literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Previous experience of working in a credit control function would be an advantage, but not a necessity
- Exceptional organisational skills
- The ability to juggle and keep control of a number of tasks, whilst remaining calm under the pressure
