My client is currently looking to recruit a Finance Manager, the role details are below:
Position Summary
To oversee the finance function ensuring staff complete what is expected of them on a daily basis and to provide support for Staff, Managers, Financial Controller and Partners.
For this role, you will need to have a good understanding of our treasury, purchase ledger, credit control and costs function. You will be responsible for assisting with the management of these teams.
Main Activities
Description of activities and responsibilities
Oversee processing of daily transactions
Production of monthly MI pack for the client and subsidiary entities. This includes month end reporting and preparation of the accounts commentary and Board report. Review all journals, reconciliations, accruals and prepayment calculations.
Maintain the accrual/prepayment schedule and fixed asset register
Post payroll for the client and subsidiary entities
Ad Hoc MI/Reporting as required by the FC or board
Daily cash flow maintenance & Review
Daily/Weekly reporting for the Management Team on key financial information
ATE Claim – process management
Daily management of billing for settled cases.
Management of team in relation to cash collection and credit control
Overseeing the file closure process
Ensuring maximisation of client/office transfers daily.
Weekly reconciliation of work source supplier payments, liaising with suppliers and the Marketing Partner
Manage the Reconciliation of our Supplier Statements including authorisation of payment instructions prepared by the Finance Team
Oversee the management of the file archiving process
Supervision of the Finance Team on all tasks outlined within their Job Descriptions
Performance management and appraisal of the Finance Team
Reporting to the Finance Controller on team performance
Support the team on all SAR queries and compliance
Such ancillary duties as may be reasonably requested by the Finance Controller or Board
Essential Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
* Experience
* Experience working with legal accounts
* Experience of managing staff
* Experience of Solicitors Accounts Rules
* Ability to use Excel and case management software to a high standard.
* PQ or QBE – CIMA preferred but not essential
* Competencies
* Able to understand all aspects of the finance function to provide cover
* Adherence to all internal quality requirements
* Adherence to the firm’s quality standards (Lexcel)
* Excellent attention to detail
* Able to prioritise tasks and handle a high volume of work
* Managing time effectively and profitably
* Embrace ownership and accountability of objectives
* Strong IT skills with ability to follow strict adherence to a case management system and ability to use Excel to a high standard
* Adaptable and flexible in their approach
* Additional Information
In addition to the above all staff are required to:
