The role of the Management Accountant is to manage the day to day running of the client accounts department and is responsible for the production of the monthly management accounts enabling the company management team to make sound commercial decisions based on financial information.
Responsibilities
-Completing Monthly Reporting Park for Financial Controller to review to include, headlines, monthly P&L, P&L actual versus budget, balance sheet, aged debt analysis, cashflow historic analysis, cashflow forecast, specific analysis, month end checklist
-Providing commentary and variance analysis, actual versus budget, actual versus prior year to account manager
-Critically reviewing the P&L and balance sheet reports to ensure there are no errors or omissions
-Offering professional judgement on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance
-Communicating financial data to non-financial managers/client staff
-Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed
-Assisting with budgets and forecasts for approval by the Financial Controller and Finance Director
-Audit
Competencies
-Part/newly qualified ACCA/CIMA
-Previous management accounting experience with an SME
