The Recruiter Insurance Specialists are working with an Established Client who are seeking a High Value Property Claims Handler with extensive experience within Commercial lines to join their team based in Chelmsford, Essex.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB

  • To manage from notification to settlement an allocation property, casualty, motor, travel and some financial lines claims.
  • The main portfolio will be looking after the book of claims for a number of hotel and leisure clients.
  • Claims administration from notification to settlement
  • Dealing with queries from clients and insurers
  • Negotiating to reach the best settlement possible for our clients whilst maintaining a good relationship with insurers
  • Preparation of claims experience for account handlers
  • Provide accurate technical advice on policy coverage and explain the correct claims process depending upon the insurer involved

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that we retain our clients
  • Deliver a caring, personal, meticulous and professional service
  • Attend client meetings where appropriate both at renewal and post loss
  • Maintain accurate system records including amendments of reserves and reporting upwards where appropriate
  • Develop and maintain good relations with our partner insurers and keep abreast of market developments
  • Report and refer to the claims manager for guidance where appropriate
  • Attend to Continuous Personal Development
  • Adhere to the company service standards for new claims and post handling
  • Maintain an accurate claims diary system
  • Provide telephone cover for absences which may include non claims related calls
  • General admin duties including filing, photocopying and maintaining a clear desk working policy

EXPERIENCE

  • Commercial Claims experience preferred including Property claims including knowledge of policy wordings and the extent of cover across a wide variety of insurance policies.
  • Motor Claims including AD repairs & TP negotiations.
  • Public Liability & Employers liability including health and safety assessments and risk management.

SKILLS

  • A confident telephone manner and proven experience working in an insurance based claims environment
  • The ability to manage a workload with the minimum supervision
  • Competent with outlook, word and excel
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • An understanding of the policy wordings.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Cert CII preferred but support will be given to achieve this qualification
