An International organisation located with the Slough area is currently recruiting for a Management Accountant for their UK Division.
The successful Management Accountant will be a key member of the finance team with the overall responsibility over the Professional Services and Product business segment accounting (requiring a high degree of project accounting knowledge). The role will engage directly with operational stakeholders in the business to get a deep understanding and provide a "finance" sounding board.
The Management Accountant will be responsible for:
- Maintaining the trial balance for Professional Services and Product, including reviewing transactional data and creating journal entries as required
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Effectively extract information from the accounting system and investigate and pro-actively manage differences and reconciling items
- Prepare management information to support monthly forecasting and historic analysis and additional ad hoc analysis as required
- Advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions
- Offering professional judgement on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance
- Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers
- Liaising with other function managers to put the finances and accounts in context
- Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed
As the successful Management Accountant you are likely to have significant experience in:
- An understanding of the technology industry
- Previous experience of project accounting
- Previous detailed experience of management accounting, including balance sheet reconciliation and journal creation essential
- Newly Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or Finalist level
