aspire cambridge are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant on behalf of our client based in Cambridge who are located 5 minute drive from the City Centre. My client is recruiting due to expansion of workload.

The role reports to the Financial Director.

Main Duties

To provide support to the Head of Finance in an exciting and fast growing company.
Support the Head of Finance in the provision of statutory and compliance reporting; collation of audit information and preparation of analysis for statutory disclosures.
Control the reporting of all business taxes including VAT and PAYE/NI, ensuring full reconciliation with detailed ledgers.
Take control of the balance sheet reconciliations for the business, ensuring that all accounts are accurate and completed monthly to comply with audit requirements.
The completion of the monthly accounting process, completing the central posting, for review by the Head of Finance.
Stock Financial Management, completing the monthly cross ledger postings, preparing Aged Stock reporting, developing and implementing an updated ageing policy.
Control and reconciliation of petty cash and credit cards.
Support the Head of Finance in the development of the Board Packs and ensure they are produced monthly in-line with the Accounting Timetable.
Carry out the Credit control function for the growing sales ledger.
Support the procurement function of the business.
Provide financial support to all areas of the business as required including projects that may cut across operations, commercial etc. and provide management information.
Provide holiday cover for other members of the Finance team as required and perform various ad-hoc duties as defined by the Head of Finance from time to time.
Skills and Experience:

Qualified accounting Technician (AAT) or qualified by experience
Experience in the preparation of information and analysis for accounting disclosures
Sage 200 knowledge
Robust knowledge of the UK direct tax and indirect tax environment with regard to implications of these on a limited company
Proficient Microsoft Excel user,
Ability to present complex information in a simple and clear manner
Self-starter, ability to work on own initiative
Good communicator, able to build solid working relationships whilst challenging the status quo
Team player who will support and assist other areas of the Finance team as required
Start: ASAP
Location: Cambridge , near Milton
Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
Salary: Negotiable- £25K
Benefits: Pension, 25 days holidays
