Cost Accountant

Gleeson Recruitment Group is currently working alongside an innovative manufacturing business in Worcester as they look to recruit an experienced part-qualified/QBE Cost Accountant. This role is paying up to £32,000 depending on experience.

The Role

Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the costings used within the business are accurate.

Principle Accountabilities are as follows:

• Maintain the costing systems of the business
• Maintains and updates Cost Models periodically
• Maintaining costs of current parts
• Assistance in preparing management accounts, including journal posting
• Cost Sales Forecast monthly
• Variance Analysis - Actual vs Budget, and vs Standard
• Analyse Material Price Variances
• Profitability & Margin Analysis of products
• Production order variance analysis
• Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget and other relevant forecasts
• Ensure SOX compliant within all aspects of the role

Skills and Experience

• ACCA/CIMA part qualified or QBE.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Cost Accountant
• Working knowledge and understanding of Sarbannes-Oxley (SOX)
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
• Good commercial and business understanding / awareness
• IT skills: Microsoft office, especially Excel spreadsheet development and being able to manipulate and manage large volume of data, Word, PowerPoint
