Management Accountant

Our client is an exciting and leading manufacturing SME based in Worcestershire. They are looking for a Commercial Management Accountant to join their growing finance team.

Job purpose;
To support the Finance Manager in overseeing all financial activities in both reporting and Budget/Forecast preparations and support all other departments within the business with expert knowledge and skills in multiple areas.

• Reconciliation of bank accounts
• Preparation of accurate Financial/Management accounts
• Reconciliation of balance sheet
• Preparation of the monthly financial accounts, reconciliations, provision of detailed variance analysis and monthly finance report
• Review the monthly financial accounts with the Finance Manager prior to uploading to Group
• Meet Group monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines for all financial aspects
• Maintain and adhere to the SOX procedures that are. Raise any concerns if the business is not complying with the agreed procedures
• Manage the fixed asset register, capex, disposals and depreciation as per Group policy
• Manage, forecast and reconcile company cash flow receipts and payments, including FX requirements
• Reconcile R&D expense as incurred and prepare R&D tax credit claims
• Maintain tax analysis details of relevant accounts for audit purposes
• Support company strategic plan whenever required by providing assistance to any of the initiatives if requested

General:

• Contribute towards Company strategy
• To work in accordance with organisational policies & practices
• To undertake any other duties as may be required within the scope of the post & participate as necessary in corporate initiatives & projects

Key Objectives:

• Variance analysis - sales, costs & overheads
• Regulatory reporting, (HMRC - VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales List), Office of National Statistics Enquiries
• Cash control and cash & FX forecasting
• Working within the SOX framework
• Strategy measures & KPI's for all necessary departments

Person Specification:

• A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Management Accountant
• Good organisational and communication skills
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
