We are currently seeking a Business Development Assistant on behalf of our client, a Financial Services organisation based in Bourne End.

The purpose of the role is to provide a complete telephone based (reactive & proactive) service to all intermediary partners and the Intermediary Sales Team, including the execution of effective outbound sales campaigns to support the delivery of both the Mortgages business plan and individual objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Central support for Brokers and Business Development Managers (BDM) throughout the DIP and FMA process via online portal, general enquiries (telephone, email), outbound calling and any other related activities
  • Achieve individual outbound call targets and contribute to the overall success of the mortgage business
  • Ensure that all correspondence is answered promptly in accordance with agreed SLA's / procedures
  • Assist with the central communication to intermediaries with regard to policy, processes and products
  • Assist in the registration of new brokers and provide technical support for brokers on the online portal
  • Build relationships with brokers, developing new business from key partner firms and increasing registrations and multiple submitters
  • Support BDMs with case updates, application escalations and complaints as and when required
  • The accurate and compliant registration of new Brokers as required and update internal systems with any network communications with regard to advisor leavers / joiners / amendments
  • Comply with all regulatory and internal controls / procedures

Knowledge / Experience

  • Minimum of 1 years' experience within a lending environment preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a financial customer service environment is desirable
  • Experience of working in a telephone based sales and support team is desirable
  • A strong understanding of the mortgage intermediary market and working knowledge of residential lending policies is preferred

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively utilising own initiative and, on occasions, with minimal daily supervision
  • The ability to maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all contacts at all times, including testing circumstances where conflicting views may occur
  • Working under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • A proactive attitude, highly motivated and a strong organisation mentality
  • Ability to use own judgement and know when to escalate matters
  • Keen eye for detail and spotting opportunities to improve business
