Due to an internal promotion, there is an opportunity for a Management Accountant.
Responsibilities
The role, Birmingham city centre based, reports to the Management Accounts Team Leader. It is also expected there will be a close working relationship with the pay and bill function and the credit management team.
- Calculation of and posting of month end COS and OPEX journals in accordance with Affinity Group Accounting Policies.
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, variance investigation and resolution on a timely basis.
- Reconciliation of revenue and cost of sales on a weekly basis.
- Weekly reporting of gross profit to business.
- Preparation of monthly P&L pack, with analysis of variances, for review by Finance Director.
- Preparation of monthly commissions for review by operational managers and management of commissions sign off by payroll deadline.
- Preparation of monthly P&Ls to operations managers and cost controllers.
- Preparation of ROI on billing headcount.
- Support in consolidating results of brand.
- Submission of information to external auditors on a timely basis.
- Occasional travel may be required (costs reimbursed)
Experience / qualities
- Prior experience in a management accounting role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Experience of working to deadlines
- Experience of working in Excel
- Desire to work in a fast-paced business and open to change
- Aspiration to become a fully qualified accountant -ACCA/CIMA
- Prior experience in the recruitment industry is advantageous
Package
- £28,000-£32,000 starting salary (dependant on experience)
- 5 hours per week
